Statement by the The Campaign to Keep Guns off Campus on the massacre at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston

North Salem, NY – Andy Pelosi, executive director of The Campaign to Keep Guns off Campus stated:

“Our thoughts are with the families of the victims of this massacre during what is a most difficult time. We are horrified and saddened by this deliberate act of violence by an armed individual that took the lives of nine people last night in a place of peace. No person should have to fear for one’s life when attending a service in a house of worship. Let us honor the victims of last night’s tragedy by committing to work together towards sound solutions to reduce gun violence in our nation, which do not include the proliferation of firearms.”
