We did it! Thanks to your work, this bill is defeated in the Senate! Senate Bill 176 sponsor Sen. John Coghill, R-North Pole, said on Tuesday that with less than a week before the end of session he told the Senate Finance Committee, where the bill sits, not to take up the bill.
The bill heard mostly criticism from University of Alaska students, professors and officials, with concerns ranging from increased risk of suicide and violence to concern about accidental and negligent discharges.
