FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[Croton Falls, New York] — The Campaign to Keep Guns Off Campus (The Campaign) announces the resignation of its co-founder/executive director, Andy Pelosi. After nearly three decades of dedicated service advocating for safe educational environments and work in all aspects of gun violence prevention dating back to 1997, Pelosi has decided to step down to pursue new opportunities. He will transition to a Board position and assist with the new leadership with The Campaign.

Since its founding in 2008, The Campaign, under Pelosi’s leadership has made significant strides in raising awareness about the dangers of firearms on college campuses. His tireless efforts have contributed to the defeat of a number of bills in states across the country that would have forced public colleges and universities to allow people to carry loaded, concealed handguns on campus.  In addition, his work with his staff also included the mobilization of students, parents, and educators nationwide.

“Andy’s passion and commitment have been instrumental in advancing our mission,” said Dina Siciliano, Board Chair for The Campaign. “His visionary leadership has laid a strong foundation for our continued work, and his work will continue to inspire and motivate our team and supporters.”

Pelosi expressed gratitude for the support he has received during his tenure. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together. Our former and current staff members, along with our volunteers and donors made this work possible and I cannot thank them enough for their commitment to the cause for safe educational communities. While I am stepping down as the director, I am confident that The Campaign will continue to grow and thrive, driven by the dedication of our incredible team and community.”

The Campaign’s board is currently in the process of identifying a successor and ensuring a smooth transition. The Campaign remains committed to its mission and will continue to advocate for the safety and well-being of students, faculty, and staff  nationwide.
